Dialogue Style
A character's Dialogue Style determines their general conversational style and approach to delivering dialogue.
This interface offers a choice between a variety of Preset dialogue styles, or creating a Custom dialogue style of your own.
Dialogue Style + Personality and Emotions
A character's Dialogue Style works closely alongside their Personality and Emotions to determine how they speak and act during interactions.
Assuring these two systems are working together and agree with each other assures the best, most consistent results.

Custom Dialogue Style
If you select Custom, you gain the ability to create a unique Dialogue Style for your character.
Selecting this option opens two fields, Adjectives and Colloquialism.
Adjectives
The Adjectives field allows you to enter up to Three (3) adjectives to describe your character.
Clicking on the field brings up a short menu of possible adjectives you can pick from, or you can manually write in any adjectives you wish.
Ideas for possible custom adjectives can be found above in the descriptions within the Preset Dialogue Style section of this guide.
Response Length
If you wish, you can also use the Adjective field to refine the length of your character's responses.
To do this, use one of your available adjectives to specify a response length. This can be general such as "short" or "long-winded," or more specific such as "10-20 words" or "1-2 sentences."
Colloquialisms
The Colloquialisms field allows you to select a single linguistic style for your character.
Clicking on this field brings up a short menu of possible colloquial styles you can define, or you can enter your own if you wish.
Custom Dialogue Style Result
As you choose your Adjectives and Colloquialism, your character's new dialogue style is displayed within the Custom Dialogue Style field.
Use this readout to determine if this describes your character, or continue to make changes until you are satisfied.
Example Dialogue
The Example Dialogue field is an effective way to provide the AI with a reference for the demeanor you are trying to capture with the character.
This field can help to "dial in" the details entered in the other fields through giving specific examples of your character’s dialogue.
Writing Example Dialogue
Try to use phrases here that support the Adjectives associated with your character. For example, if you have entered elsewhere that your character is “pompous,” this is your opportunity to convey that with specific snippets of things they might say.
Do not include any mentions of “Character" or "Player" within this field.
For best results, use standalone dialogue examples that read as real sentences. Anything included here that is not example dialogue could potentially bleed into the character's responses, as they pay attention to everything here to shape their language.
Example Dialogue Ideas
Examples of Example Dialogue that could be entered here include:
- character-specific greetings
- specific lines you want them to say
- catchphrases
- common turns of phrase they would use
- contractions they are fond of using
- slang words they employ regularly
