Flaws

A character's Flaws dictate their major shortcomings, insecurities, and fears.

Flaws

Writing a Flaw

Within the Flaws field, write one or two sentences that describe the character's most significant shortcomings, doubts, fears, or weaknesses.

When writing this sentence, consider things such as:

  • Is something holding them back from accomplishing their motivations?
  • How do they express their internal conflict through outward dialogue?
  • What topics will trigger a negative reaction?
  • Have they endured particular hardships, making them leery of the player's intentions?
  • Perhaps they use sarcasm to hide their insecurities.
  • Maybe their own shortcomings make them more relatable and help the player open up about their own self-doubts.

Wording Impacts Impact

Your wording here can determine how a character is impacted by their flaws.

For example, your character could be “aggressively” trying to achieve their motivations, or alternatively, they might approach their flaws “comically.”

Be deliberate in your wording, and attempt to bring this tone out through how you word the character's Flaws.

Character Limit

A character's Flaws can contain a maximum of 250 characters.
